Delaney Guider delivered one of the most impressive performances of the junior season, storming through the Girls' 12 & Under singles draw as an unseeded player and winning the Level 2 in Seminole, FL. The tournament was held February 7-9 at Seminole Lake Country Club Tennis.

The final was as emphatic as they come. Guider dismantled No. 1 seed Lola Looney 6-0, 6-0, leaving no doubt about who was the best player in the draw. It was a remarkable result against a top seed who had fought through a tough draw of her own to reach the championship match.

Guider's Path to the Title

Guider opened her tournament with a convincing quarterfinal win over No. 5 seed Rhiya Chiang, 6-3, 6-0. She carried that form into the semifinals, where she dispatched No. 6 seed Diya Godavarthi 6-1, 6-2. Neither opponent could find a way to slow Guider's momentum.

Looney's Tough Road to the Final

Top seed Looney had a much harder path. In the quarterfinals, she dropped the first set to Lauren Chang before recovering to win 1-6, 6-2, [10-7] in a match tiebreak. The semifinal against No. 3 seed Ranvi Reddy was another battle — Looney edged through 7-6(2), 6-4 in a tight contest. Unfortunately for Looney, the energy spent getting to the final may have taken its toll.

No. 3 seed Ranvi Reddy had a solid run to the semifinals, beating No. 7 seed Elizabeth Higgins 6-4, 6-3 in the quarterfinals before falling to Looney. No. 6 seed Diya Godavarthi advanced past No. 4 seed Catherine Chan 6-2, 6-4 to reach the semis.
