Berry Cruises to Girls' 16U Title at MAC Open Without Dropping a Set
Tournament date: February 8, 2026
Top seed Alana Berry put together a commanding weekend to capture the Girls' 16 & Under singles title at the Level 5 MAC Open, held February 6-8 at Manchester Athletic Club in Manchester, MA. Berry didn't drop a set in the entire tournament.
Berry Closes It Out in the Final
The final matched the top two seeds, and Berry controlled the match from start to finish. She broke Oyebog early in both sets, winning 6-2, 6-4 to secure the title. It was Berry's most competitive match of the weekend — a testament to how dominant she was throughout the draw.
Berry's Dominant Run
Berry prevailed with a 6-3, 6-0 in the quarterfinals over Clare Dooley, then followed it up with an identical 6-3, 6-0 scoreline against No. 4 seed Lexi Popeo in the semifinals. Berry was never broken more than once in any set over the course of the tournament.
Oyebog Rallies From a Set Down in Quarters
No. 2 seed Leigh Oyebog's path to the final was far more eventful. In the quarterfinals against Caroline Tusk, Oyebog dropped the first set 3-6 and found herself in real trouble. But she regrouped to take the second 6-4, then ran away with the match tiebreak 10-3 to advance.
The semifinal was a different story. Oyebog was ruthless against No. 3 seed Dhriti Reddy Pylla, winning 6-1, 6-0 in a dominant display that set up the top-two showdown in the final.
Popeo and Pylla Round Out the Semis
Fourth seed Lexi Popeo earned her semifinal spot with a hard-fought quarterfinal win over Sofia Perez, taking the first set in a tiebreak before closing it out 6-4 in the second.
